Gus' BBQ - South Pasadena, CA
Memphis Baby Back Ribs, Carolina Pulled Pork and Baked Beans
Baby back ribs = fall of the bone meat, although quality was hard to determine as ribs were eaten with one hand puncturing with fork while standing. Beans = beany and pulled pork = "meh".
Baby Blues BBQ - Venice, CA
Memphis Baby Back Ribs with Mac and Cheese
Their ribs were far superior. Apparently, "Memphis" style means a dry rub (heh) smothered in tangy barbecue sauce. Mac and cheese = f me now. I saw them pour a bucket of milky liquid over pasta and bake it while smothering it with cheese. Pour that milky liquid over me baby, anyday.

Overland Cafe
Brunch at the Overland Cafe in Culver City is the perfect start to a Sunday morning. And really, nothing adds to it like $5 all-you-can-drink champagne. What better way to end a good weekend?
I ordered the Eggs Benedict with ham and coffee. I have to be honest, I didn't drink champagne, but my hilarious friends went thought about 7 bottles that morning. Between 3 of them.
Can't wait for another morning where we get to reminisce over the previous night's events over some delicious food and champagne.

Seared Scallops with Black Trumpets and Vanilla Tapioca
You would think vanilla tapioca is just for pudding cups, but it made a pleasantly surprising combination with the salty scallops and black thingies that I think are mushrooms but that are called "trumpets". Don't ask me, I'm not in the band.
Entree: Salmon
But for some reason I failed to take a photo. Probably out of sheer hunger.
Caramel Chocolate Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream
Sounds booooring I know, but this was one of the tastiest chocolate cakes I've had only because it was very moist with a not TOO overpowering chocolate flavor, and better yet, had little crunchy caramel bits in it to give it texture and complimentary flavor. I could've had 10 of these, plus 3 more.
